The head of the UGCC urged the authorities to expose all corrupt officials.

The head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, in a video address, criticized the corruption scandal involving Ukraine’s top leadership. According to him, “another pain of this week has spread through the hearts and minds of Ukrainians.”

He stated that the UGCC “consistently denounces and condemns the phenomenon we call corruption.”

“In wartime, this is genuine sabotage against Ukraine, especially in the energy sector, when today millions of Ukrainians are suffering from the absence of light and heat,” Shevchuk emphasized.

He called it encouraging that the anti-corruption cleansing is being carried out by state institutions and expressed hope for the authorities’ persistent fight against this evil.

Shevchuk appealed to all those who bear responsibility in the state, urging them to do everything possible to expose corrupt officials and “make it impossible for this phenomenon to continue destroying our country and undermining trust in Ukraine among our international partners.”

At the conclusion of his address, Shevchuk declared: “Despite our internal pains and difficulties, no one can break Ukraine’s will for freedom, for truth, for dignity, for independence. Ukraine stands, Ukraine fights, Ukraine prays!”

Earlier, the UOJ reported that UCCRO reacted to the government corruption scandal "with deep pain."
