UOC to hold charity campaign for children on St. Nicholas feast
The campaign is aimed at supporting displaced children, orphans, and families from front-line regions.
The Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Issues of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has announced the launch of its traditional charity campaign for the Feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, reports the UOC Social Department’s Telegram channel.
As part of the initiative, gifts are being prepared for children from internally displaced families, orphans, low-income and large families, as well as for children with disabilities.
As in previous years, part of the gifts will be sent to children in the Kherson region and other front-line areas. The Social Department notes that for many children, this feast has become a symbol of hope and kindness in difficult times.
“Let us become helpers of St. Nicholas and bring children a spark of love and joy,” the organizers urge.
Donations can be made to the following account: 4246 0010 0436 1857 (please note “for St. Nicholas Day”).
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the abbot of an American monastery spoke out in defense of the UOC.
