At the forum, the clergy discussed the threat of neo-pagan movements directed against the Christian tradition of Europe.

On November 4, 2025, the XXX Pan-Orthodox Conference on Heresies and Para-religions opened at the Spiritual Center "Saint Photios" in the Greek city of Katerini. The theme of the meeting is "Neopaganism: Aspects and Practices", as reported by Orthodoxia News Agency.

The forum is held under the patronage of Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece. Representatives of the Patriarchates of Constantinople, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Serbia, and Bulgaria, as well as delegates from the Orthodox Churches of Cyprus, Poland, and Albania, are participating in the conference.

In his address to the conference participants, Archbishop Ieronymos noted that the phenomenon of neopaganism has become part of "a broader ideological current that seeks to deconstruct the Christian tradition as a constituent element of modern European civilization". According to him, proponents of neopaganism seek to present Christianity "not as a spiritual continuation, but as an adversary of ancient Greek culture".

The Archbishop emphasized that in public speeches and online platforms, representatives of neopagan movements increasingly use "aggressive and often abusive terminology towards holy persons and institutions of the Church". This rhetoric, he noted, is aimed at "the ideological reversal of historical reality with the aim of deconstructing the Christian faith and overturning the timeless historical and cultural continuity".

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a protest against the introduction of electronic passports took place in Greece.
