Metropolitan Arseniy imprisoned again
The hierarch will remain in pre-trial detention for at least 60 days.
Around 9 p.m. on November 3, the Cathedral Court of Dnipro completed a hearing on the preventive measure for Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk. The bishop was once again placed behind bars for 60 days – this time in connection with another case under Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, “Justification of Russian Aggression.”
Recall that on October 23, a court granted Metropolitan Arseniy the right to be released on bail. He was freed from pre-trial detention on October 28, but SBU officers were waiting for him at the gate and immediately took him to their office.
Since October 30, new court hearings on the latest charges against the hierarch have been taking place almost around the clock, with sessions even scheduled at 3 a.m. His health deteriorated several times during the process. During the last hearing, an ambulance had to take him to the hospital due to a hypertensive crisis – yet soon afterward, Metropolitan Arseniy was brought back to the courtroom.
