The ruling hierarch of the Kharkiv eparchy performed the consecration of a church dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord and awarded the church benefactors.

On October 28, 2025, Metropolitan Onufriy of Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv performed the Great Rite of Consecration for the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in the village of Krasnopavlivka, Lozova district, Kharkiv region, the press service of the Kharkiv eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reported.

After the consecration, the ruling hierarch led the first Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church. The service took place on the day of the celebration of the Icon of the Mother of God “She Who Ripens the Harvest,” on the Tuesday of the 20th week after Pentecost. During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for the defenders of the homeland, for those who have lost their homes, and for all who help the Ukrainian people in this difficult time of trials.

At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Onufriy addressed the rector, clergy, and parishioners with an archpastoral word, congratulated them on the feast, and invoked God’s blessing upon all. For their zealous service to the Church, the metropolitan awarded church honors to the rector and benefactors of the sanctuary.

Earlier, UOJ reported that a conference marking the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the Kharkiv eparchy of the UOC was held in Kharkiv. In November 2024, Metropolitan Onufriy also consecrated the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist in the village of Ivano-Shiychyne, Bohodukhiv district.
