In Bulgaria,"Words, Messages, Answers" by Metropolitan Onuphry published
The Bulgarian Orthodox Church has published a collection of spiritual teachings and responses by His Beatitude Onuphry, which has become a testament to the fraternal support of the UOC.
By the blessing of Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech, a new publication has been released in Bulgaria – the collection "Words, Messages, Answers" by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine. This was reported by Predanie.bg.
As the title suggests, the collection includes sermons by Bishop Onuphry, talks and answers to questions that cover a wide range of topics related to the spiritual life of the Orthodox Christian, the dogmatic and canonical theology of the Orthodox Church, the church schism in Ukraine and problems of our time.
As Metropolitan Gabriel of Lovech writes in the preface to the publication, "the book you hold in your hands is the fruit of spiritual wisdom and pastoral sensitivity. It collects questions from the living life of a believer – about prayer, fasting, confession, spiritual guidance, the holy sacraments, suffering, war, love and repentance. And the answers of Bishop Onuphrius are not dry definitions, but life-giving words that bring peace, sobriety and quiet joy...."
"Metropolitan Onuphry is not just the head of the Church, he is the living embodiment of the Holy Spirit of Orthodoxy... his words remain brief but lively, simple but penetrating, unadorned but filled with grace," noted Metropolitan Gabriel.
A special place in the book is occupied by the theme of steadfastness and fidelity to the Church of Christ. The Bulgarian hierarch reminded that during the years of persecution and pressure on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Onuphry showed spiritual firmness and humility – responding to hatred with love, to injustice with prayer. Having lost Ukrainian citizenship, he remained faithful to Christ and his people, becoming an example of a modern confessor of faith.
The publication of this book in Bulgarian is also a sign of the spiritual connection between the fraternal Orthodox peoples, who, despite historical storms, continue to breathe with the same liturgical heart. As noted in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the book by Metropolitan Onuphry is intended to become a guide for those seeking truth and a consolation for those going through sorrows.
As reported by the UOJ, the Bulgarian Patriarch stated that there are very significant obstacles to the recognition of the OCU.
