Around 800 pilgrims walked 25 kilometers in prayer.

On October 25, 2025, on the eve of the feast of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, a cross procession set out from Chernivtsi to the men’s monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of Saint Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr in the village of Kolenkivtsi.

About 800 faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church covered the 25-kilometer route in several hours, praying to the Most Holy Theotokos for Ukraine, for the soldiers-defenders, for their homeland, for their loved ones, and for the entire fullness of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. At the head of the procession, several men carried a massive three-meter cross. Many of the pilgrims were young people.

At the monastery, the chapel church is consecrated in honor of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God, making this pilgrimage especially symbolic on the eve of the feast.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Bukovyna had also hosted a cross procession in honor of the wonderworking Boyany Icon.
