The bishop was hospitalized after a trip to the Phanar.

Metropolitan Tychikos of Paphos was taken to a hospital in Athens. This was reported by UOJ in Greece, publishing a video from the hospital on the Youtube channel Άγιος Λουκάς ο Ιατρός.

According to the source, the bishop had been unwell for several days, and doctors advised him to refrain from traveling to Istanbul. However, the metropolitan still went to the Phanar, where his condition significantly worsened due to fatigue and stress.

On arrival in Athens, the bishop felt unwell and was taken to the Onassis Clinic on October 22, after which he was transferred to another hospital for examinations. As reported by the accompanying priest Evangelos Papanikolaou, the bishop experienced chest pains.

In a published video message from the hospital ward, Metropolitan Tychikos thanked Father Evangelos for his support and asked for the prayers of the faithful.

«Glory to God! I ask for the prayers of everyone, as I pray for Paphos, which I love so much. I pray for all of Cyprus and for every Christian. Pray that this trial passes and better days come for our Church. Glory to God!» said the bishop.

As earlier reported, the Constantinople Synod rejected the appeal of MetropolitanTychikos pf Paphos. What this means, UOJ analyzed in the publication "The Trial of Metropolitan Tychikos: When the Church 'Washes Its Hands'".
