Believers in Vyshhorod: We support Metropolitan Onuphry and the UOC
The parishioners stated that they remain faithful to their Church and its Primate despite pressure from the OCU.
On October 19, 2025, parishioners of the UOC Church of St. Panteleimon in Vyshhorod recorded a video message declaring their loyalty to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, First Cossack reports.
The gathering took place after the Sunday service in response to a series of troubling incidents. The reason was the falsification of documents concerning the church by OCU raiders, followed by a visit from OCU cleric Bosenko. The faithful fear that OCU activists are preparing a forcible seizure of their temple.
The parishioners emphasized their support for their rector, Archpriest Dionysiy, and stated that they have no intention of leaving the canonical Church.
One parishioner shared that the church holds special significance for her: she was baptized there, and her parents prayed in that very place. “This is the Church and faith of my parents. I don’t want to betray or abandon my Church. I support our priest, Father Dionysius, and our Metropolitan Onuphry,” the woman said.
Another parishioner added: “We support Metropolitan Onuphry, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and this parish, whose rector is Archpriest Dionysiy.”
A third participant noted that the faithful remain steadfast in their position: “We don’t want any changes. We remain in the UOC.”
Another parishioner thanked the rector for his care and spiritual guidance: “Our parishioners regularly attend services, help the church, and deeply support Father Dionysius. We do not want any changes in our community.”
The faithful declared that they remain loyal to their Church and its Primate despite pressure from the OCU.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Panteleimon parish in Vyshhorod had previously voted to remain faithful to the UOC.
