Business ombudsman: Every lost or displaced Ukrainian means a migrant’s place

Vashchuk emphasized that Ukraine is experiencing a labor shortage, which will be addressed through migration.
Ukraine’s Business Ombudsman Roman Vashchuk stated that every Ukrainian who dies or leaves the country frees up a place for a migrant.
“There is a large part of the world for whom living in Ukraine would be an incredible upgrade. With every Ukrainian who leaves, and with every Ukrainian who, unfortunately, dies, a job position is created for someone from abroad,” Vashchuk said in response to a question about a potential influx of labor migrants.
According to him, even before the full-scale invasion, there were already quite a few migrants from Asia in Ukraine.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to former Minister of Economy Tymofiy Mylovanov, up to 10 million migrants may be brought into Ukraine after the war – approximately the same number as the remaining native population.
