A church of UOC Konotop Eparchy damaged by shelling in Seredyna-Buda
The church’s walls were damaged, windows shattered, and a shell crater formed on the grounds.
On October 14, 2025, St. Nicholas Church of the Konotop Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the town of Seredyna-Buda, Shostka District, Sumy Region, was damaged by shelling, reports mezha.city.
The publication cites information shared by the parish rector, Archpriest Ioann Drobny, on his Facebook page.
Photos show that the shelling damaged the church’s walls, shattered its windows, and left a crater on the church grounds.
The church was built between 1780 and 1787 and stands on a cemetery in the eastern part of the town. It has undergone multiple reconstructions, but the altar of the original structure has survived. In 1902, the building was expanded and took on its present form.
Earlier, in the city of Shostka, another church of the Konotop Eparchy – the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God – was also damaged by shelling.
