UOC about the attack on UOC priest: Wolves stopped playing sheep

The Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese compared the current situation in Ukraine with the events in Montenegro in 2020.

The Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy commented on the attack on a priest in Lviv on May 22. The clerics of the diocese believe the situation has escalated to the limit.

“Wolves on television no longer pretend to be sheep. While they would hypocritically say ‘we love you, join us in the OCU and we will live together and pray,’ now they have openly outlined their goals: to ban Christians of the UOC, to take away Orthodox churches and monasteries, to expel those who disagree,” the diocese’s Telegram channel noted.

“The battle of the schismatics with the Church will continue until the Ukrainian Orthodox Church disappears in Ukraine. For as long as the Church exists, there will be a constant contrast between light and darkness, between a healthy body and illness,” the diocese emphasized.

In this regard, the diocese recalled the events in Montenegro, when the opposition won there in 2020, after which, in the city of Pljevlja, attackers threw stones at the premises of the Islamic community and covered the walls with threats and insults.

“Orthodox Christians came to the defense of mosques and Islamic centers. The now deceased Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral said then that the attack on the Muslims of Pljevlja is an attack on every Christian in Pljevlja and on every citizen of Montenegro. ‘He who sows hatred moves away from Divine Love and God's blessing, and whoever does not respect other people's shrines cannot respect his own,’ he said. This is the difference in the attitude towards the shrines in Montenegro and Ukraine.”

According to the believers of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC, Ukraine hardly has the right to call itself an Orthodox country, where churches are destroyed daily, shrines are chopped down with axes and priests are splashed with brilliant green.

Recall that on May 22, 2022, during the Divine Liturgy in Lviv, the radicals, breaking into the temple of the UOC, splashed brilliant green in the face of Priest Vladimir Mandziuk.

As the UOJ wrote, the raiders of the OCU seized the temple of the UOC in Ivankiv, Kyiv region.
