Two days after the authorities sealed the Cathedral, the parish is now praying outdoors.

On October 12, 2025, following the sealing of the Cathedral of the Dormition by local authorities, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr–Volyn and Kovel celebrated the Divine Liturgy in a small chapel, while the faithful were forced to pray outside. Some worshippers managed to fit inside the chapel, but most stood under the open sky.

Despite the rain during the service, parishioners remained in prayer – some with umbrellas, others without – lifting their hearts to God.

After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Volodymyr addressed his flock with words of comfort and encouragement. He urged the faithful not to lose heart and to continue praying despite the trials they face.

As previously reported, on October 10, when the authorities seized the Cathedral, dozens of police vehicles surrounded the building. Believers gathered by the church walls – many came during the night to defend their sanctity. However, access to the temple was blocked. Inside were government officials and unidentified individuals inspecting the premises and filming without clergy present.
