Believers were not allowed into the church; the area was cordoned off by police, while government agents conducted an “inventory of property” inside.

On October 10, 2025, the state seized the buildings of the Cathedral, the Eparchial Administration, and the Theological School of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the Telegram channel Raskolam.net.

According to eyewitnesses, the territory of the complex was surrounded by police, and the faithful were not allowed near the church. Government officials were present at the scene, conducting an “inventory of property.”

Videos and photos published online show dozens of police cars arriving at the church. Believers gathered by the cathedral walls – many had come during the night to defend the shrine. Despite the community’s pleas, access to the church remained closed.

Inside the cathedral, according to witnesses, there were government representatives and unidentified individuals inspecting the premises and recording video footage. Believers reported that this was taking place without the participation of the clergy.

Earlier, the eparchy noted that pressure on the UOC’s church structures in the region had been intensifying, and cases of interference in the activities of religious communities were becoming increasingly frequent.

The Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy of the UOC unites dozens of parishes and theological institutions, many of which in recent months have faced inspections and attempts to re-register property.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a member of parliament had called on Zelensky to assist in expelling the UOC from the cathedral in Volodymyr.
