People’s Deputy again threatens to seize UOC cathedral in Volodymyr by force

People’s Deputy says he will make sure Epifaniy Dumenko holds his “service” in the Orthodox shrine.
People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the For the Future party, Ihor Huz, once again threatened to forcibly evict the Volodymyr–Volynskyi Eparchy of the UOC from the premises of the Holy Dormition Cathedral complex in Volodymyr – which also houses the eparchial administration and the theological school. He made the statement in an interview with journalist Yuriy Rychuk.
According to him, the shrine belongs to the state, so he regards expelling the faithful by force as entirely lawful.
“After October 9 there will be the final (court) decision – and that's all then. I am doing everything possible now so that the state, represented by the heads of the National Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the SBU, implements at the beginning of October all the relevant court decisions. It was sealed, and then decisions were made. But if not – we will lead policemen in there by the hand,” Huz said.
The deputy added that he dreams of Epifaniy Dumenko of the OCU celebrating his “service” there after the Orthodox faithful are driven out of their shrine.
“For example, I do not hide that my cherished dream is that Epifaniy will hold a service there. And he will hold that service there,” he threatened.
Previously, Ihor Huz stated that he planned to evict the faithful from the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyi by force – with the help of “the community and the relevant structures.”
