A cleric of the RCC defended a woman on seeing that a young man attacked her with a knife.

On October 1, 2025, in the southern part of Dublin, an 80-year-old Catholic priestcame to the rescue of a 73-year-old woman who was attacked near a church, reports the Irish Independent.

The incident occurred on Kimmage Road Lower at around 4 p.m. the suspect was attempting to stab people and was threatening anyone who he came across. Among his targets was a young woman who was pushing a baby in a pram, who it is alleged the man attempted to stab in the hand as she walked in the Harold’s Cross area.

When the assailant grabbed the elderly woman near the church, the priest, who was leaving the temple, saw the commotion and bravely intervened.

Thanks to his actions, more serious consequences were prevented, but the woman was still taken to the hospital for examination.

The police, who arrived at the scene, managed to detain the perpetrator, a man around 30 years old. According to the publication's sources, the suspect is understood to be suffering from significant health issues.

As reported by the UOJ, in Manchester, a man launched a terrorist attack near a synagogue.
