Patriarch Daniil: There are no scientific facts that contradict faith in God

The Primate of the Bulgarian Church stated that there are no transitional forms in evolution and pointed to the complexity of the DNA information code.
In an interview with Bulgarian journalist Martin Karbovski, Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil delivered an extensive critique of atheistic views, relying on modern scientific data. "In our time, I think there are no reasonable arguments to be an atheist," reports UOJ in Bulgaria, citing the Patriarch.
"Atheists usually rely on scientific knowledge for their views. I want to tell them: there are no scientific facts, scientific discoveries that would contradict faith in God," emphasized Patriarch Daniil, noting the special role of modern achievements in genetics to substantiate faith.
According to him, the study of DNA testifies to the impossibility of the accidental emergence of life. "The foundation of life is visible – information, the DNA informational code, nothing happens in the human body and in all living organisms by chance. These are commands, this is information," he explained.
The Patriarch posed a rhetorical question: "Is there an informational message that appeared by itself? Information that appeared by itself?" He gave the example of a single-celled organism, emphasizing that "the intellect, technology, wisdom with which it is created and arranged surpasses everything that man has created up to this moment."
The head of the BOC paid special attention to criticizing the theory of evolution, pointing out the absence of transitional forms in the paleontological record. "Darwin himself, the founder of the theory of evolution, said: future archaeology will reveal enough transitional forms that will substantiate that new species appeared as a result of random mutations. But there is not a single transitional form," stated the Patriarch.
"Between species, there is generally not a single fossil, not a single piece of evidence of a transitional form from one species to another. We are not talking about apes and humans – between species in general," he added, noting that only "remains of living organisms in a certain completed form" are visible.
Patriarch Daniil also critically commented on attempts to falsify "transitional forms." "In the 20th century, several attempts were made to compile from various fossils of different animals, to make such a find that would testify to a transitional form between an ape and a human. In America in the last century, there was a process – a deception, when scientists used lies and manipulations," he said.
The head of the BOC pointed out the contradiction in the position of supporters of the evolutionary theory: "They accuse the Church of being dogmatic, ossified, and at the same time, people from scientific circles use manipulations to prove their views."
Earlier, SPZH cited the words of Patriarch Daniil that digital consciousness is an delusion.
