Activists of "Decolonization. Ukraine" were outraged by the photo of the monument to the saint in the session hall room.

Public activists have demanded the removal of the image of St. Prince Alexander Nevsky from the premises of the district administration in Kharkiv. This was reported by KHARKIV Today on September 12, 2025.

"This is the premises of the Saltivka District Administration in Kharkiv, the session hall. They still haven't thought of removing the image. We appealed to the mayor regarding the dismantling," wrote activists of the movement «Decolonization. Ukraine» on their Telegram channel and published a photo.

The editorial team of KHARKIV Today, commenting on the initiative, stated that the supposedly historical image of Alexander Nevsky is a myth created by Russian propaganda for political purposes.

"The Kremlin is currently using the image of Alexander Nevsky as a 'defender of Rus'' from the West, although historically he was not such but rather a conqueror," claim the journalists.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier the OCU stated that they removed St. Prince Alexander Nevsky from the saints' calendar for collaborationism.`
