Several tens of thousands of people participated in the procession.

On September 7, 2025, a citywide procession took place in Moscow from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior to the Novodevichy Monastery, reports the ROC press service. The route was approximately 6 kilometers long.

The procession was led by Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church, accompanied by Russian politicians and military personnel. The Patriarch said he was overjoyed to “see so many people today”.

"All this testifies to the fact that we have already come a long way in the revival and renewal of church life," he said.

The ROC press service stated that the All-Moscow procession to the Novodevichy Monastery "is one of the oldest and most significant in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church" and is associated with the transfer of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.

As reported, RF reps said that Christians and Muslims are fighting together against Antichrist in the "SMO".
