New nuns tonsured in Boryspil Eparchy

The nuns received names in honor of Saint Theodosius, the Righteous Tabitha, and the Archangel Michael.
On August 24, 2025, at the Transfiguration Monastery of the Boryspil Eparchy in the village of Knyazhychi, Kyiv region, Archbishop Ambrose of Zghurivka performed the mantia tonsure of three novices. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department with reference to the monastery’s Facebook page.
In the monastic rite, the novices Martha, Salomea, and Susanna received new names in honor of St. Theodosius of the Caves, the Righteous Tabitha, and the Archangel Michael. The mantia tonsure is the second stage of monastic life and involves the taking of the essential vows of obedience, chastity, and non-acquisitiveness.
After the service, Archbishop Ambrose congratulated the newly tonsured nuns and addressed them with words of guidance.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a tonsure into the Great Schema was performed at the Kniazhychi Monastery of the UOC.
