His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry leads Liturgy at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Onuphry wished the faithful God's blessing, as well as peace for the Ukrainian land.

On August 3, 2025, in the 8th week after Pentecost, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Agapitus of the Caves on the territory of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

His Beatitude was concelebrated by Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, the brethren of the monastery, and guests in holy orders.

During the service, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukrainian land, deliverance from the enemy, God's mercy on the people, and support for those who lost their homes and found themselves in trouble.

The Primate also prayed for God's blessing on all people of goodwill helping those in need, for wisdom for the authorities, courage for the soldiers, the release of captives, healing of the sick, and protection of the homeless.

After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude addressed the community with a sermon.

At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the faithful on Sunday, wished them God's blessing, earthly and heavenly goods, and peace to the Ukrainian land.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Primate of the UOC spoke about the feat of the Old Testament prophet who fought against idolatry and performed the miracle of fire descending from heaven.
