Metropolitan Onuphry presides over Liturgy on the Feast of Saint Olga
The Primate of the UOC celebrated a service at the Church of Saint Olga in Kyiv and blessed a charity fair in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 24, 2025, the feast day of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Olga in Kyiv, reports the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
Concelebrating with the Primate were: Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna (head of the UOC’s Department for External Church Relations), Metropolitan Alexiy of Voznesensk and Pervomaisk, Metropolitan Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv, Archbishop Dionisiy of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, as well as clergy of the cathedral and guest priests.
During the fervent supplication (litany), prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and deliverance from the enemy, that the Lord might look mercifully upon the people, protect those in despair and those who have lost their homes, and bless those of goodwill who assist those in need. The Primate implored God’s mercy upon the Ukrainian people, praying that the Lord would grant wisdom to the authorities, strengthen the courage of the soldiers, free the captives, heal the sick, and shelter the homeless.
Following the service, the Primate gave his blessing for the opening of a charity fair held on the cathedral grounds in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Primate of the UOC led the celebrations on the feast day of St. Anthony of the Caves.
