UOC Social Department calls to support annual “Backpack of Mercy” campaign

200 children from displaced families need help to prepare for the new school year.
Ahead of the new school year, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has launched its annual charitable campaign “Backpack of Mercy.” According to the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Issues, the goal is to help families of internally displaced persons prepare their children for school.
“Today, to get a child ready for school – even just providing a backpack and a basic set of stationery – requires more than 2000 UAH, not to mention the need for school uniforms and other additional supplies,” the department notes.
The UOC’s Synodal Department plans to help more than 200 children from families in need of assistance and financial support.
The department is asking people to take part in the campaign, which will run until August 15, 2025.
You can help the children by sending donations to this account: 4246 0010 0436 1857.
