The persecuted religious community has been praying in a private house for two years.

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Metropolitan Viktor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the UOC parish of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Khmelnytskyi. According to the eparchy's press service, the Liturgy was held in a house converted into a church.

More than two years ago, the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was seized by supporters of the OCU. Since then, the religious community has been praying in a private house converted into a church.

The ruling bishop of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy was concelebrated by the eparchy's secretary, Archpriest Oleksandr Rybchynskyi, the parish rector, Archpriest Petro Diachuk, and the parish clergy.

During the fervent litany, special prayers were offered for the warrior-defenders and peace in Ukraine, as well as for all the destitute, needy, and those affected by the war.

After the service, Metropolitan Viktor addressed the faithful with words of spiritual guidance and congratulated the parish rector, Archpriest Petro, on his fiftieth anniversary, awarding him the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy Order of the "Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos".

As reported, the day before, the religious community of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Stari Broskivtsi of the Chernivtsi Eparchy celebrated their patronal feast outside their church for the first time.
