US Congressman condemns terror against Christians in Syria

Ryan McKenzie noted that Syrian Christians are an example of faith confession.
In the USA, Republican Congressman Ryan Mackenzie from the state of Pennsylvania condemned the terrorist attack on the Church of St. Elias of the Antiochian Orthodox Church in the capital of Syria, Damascus.
"On Sunday, Christians in Syria once again found themselves the target of a vicious terror attack amidst an ongoing crisis of violence and persecution," wrote the congressman on his «X» on June 27, 2025, and published a video of his speech in the House of Representatives.
The politician noted that the terrorist attack was committed against innocent civilians. He emphasized that those attending the Sunday service were not combatants.
According to the Republican congressman, Syrian Christians are an example of faith confession.
"They were members of the community who had endured unimaginable suffering and faced an uncertain future with faith and hope. In the shadow of relentless terror and violence, it takes tremendous courage to do many of the things we take for granted. We can take inspiration from those who face cowardly perpetrators of destruction with faith and hope, as they were to rebuild the nation," said Mackenzie.
He expressed words of support to the Syrian community and said he prays for the victims and for the return of peace to Syria: "May God bless all those who stand up in the face of terror and violence."
