There are already about 70 Bukovynian believers on the “blacklist”.

In Chernivtsi, representatives of law enforcement agencies are compiling lists of the UOC faithful who stood in defense of the Holy Spirit Cathedral on June 17, 2025. According to UOJ sources, local authorities have launched a machine of repression and intimidation.

Initially, about 30-40 people were included in the list, which eventually grew to 70.

“They include everyone — even those who may have just been standing nearby… It’s even written there: ‘stood by the cathedral, entered the premises…’ Everyone who was recorded starts ending up on these lists. There were 30, then 40, and now already 70 people on them.”

According to the source, some entrepreneurs and civil servants, whom law enforcement noticed near the cathedral, have already been subjected to pressure.

Earlier, the UOJ received documents indicating that the parishioners of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Chernivtsi had warned law enforcement agencies in advance about the planned seizure of the temple by OCU representatives. However, the police ignored these appeals.
