On the eve of the Feast of the Holy Trinity, believers pray for their deceased ancestors on one of the most important memorial days in the church calendar.

On June 7, 2025, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Trinity Parental Saturday – one of the main days of commemoration of the departed in the year, along with the Meatfare Parental Saturday and commemorations during the Great Lent. This day precedes the feast of the Holy Trinity, which in 2025 falls on June 8.

Trinity Saturday is one of the Universal Parental Saturdays, when believers pray not only for their relatives but for all departed Christians.

According to the Typikon of the Universal Orthodox Church, on the eve of the feast of the Holy Pentecost (Trinity), a memorial service is performed. The tradition dates back to apostolic times and symbolizes the last day of the Old Testament Church.

On Trinity Saturday, it is customary to pray for one's entire family, as well as for all departed Christians.

Trinity Parental Saturday reminds believers of the spiritual connection between generations and the importance of prayerful commemoration of all who have passed into eternity.
