Amsterdam: We will use all remedies to protect the rights of UOC believers

On May 16, 2025, international lawyer Robert Amsterdam, representing the interests of the UOC, issued a statement addressed to the Ukrainian authorities.
On his page on the social network Twitter, he wrote that "the Ukrainian government has announced new measures against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church."
"If they continue their unjustified campaign, we will use all available remedies to raise this with stakeholders committed to religious freedom and the rule of law," Amsterdam emphasized.
The lawyer's statement came against the backdrop of yet another initiative by the Ukrainian authorities aimed at banning the activities of the UOC and pushing it out of the public space.
