Sviatohirsk Lavra receives humanitarian aid from UOC Social Department
Priests from Kyiv also delivered food, clothing, and medicine to frontline towns and villages in Donbas.
On May 13, 2025, clergy from the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Social and Humanitarian Affairs delivered nearly two tons of humanitarian aid to Sviatohirsk Lavra, according to the monastery's website.
The shipment included food (eggs, potatoes, cucumbers, and more), clothing, and medicine.
The aid, provided as part of the "Mission of Mercy" program, was accompanied by the deputy head of the UOC Social Department, Archpriest Kostiantyn Dvorovyi, and the head of the Kyiv Eparchy’s department for social service and charity, Archpriest Andrii Dvorovyi.
The priests met with children of displaced families living at the Lavra and handed out sweets.
Fr. Andrii expressed gratitude to all compassionate donors, especially the servant of God Yevhenii and Archpriest Viacheslav Lazoryk, dean of the Bilohorodka Church District of the Kyiv Eparchy.
The priests also delivered humanitarian aid to towns and villages in the frontline areas of Donetsk region.
Sviatohirsk Lavra shared that the monastery has long served as a "place of rest" for many volunteers helping civilians in the conflict zone.
“Here, they are given shelter and food, and are surrounded by the simple warmth of human hearts. After receiving a ‘charge of kindness’ in the Holy Mountains, the volunteers go forth to fulfill their mission. They also stop here to rest on their return journey,” the monastery noted.
As previously reported by the UOJ, Orthodox Christians from Bukovyna delivered food to Sviatohirsk Lavra ahead of Pascha.
