UOC hierarch gifts minibus to sisters of mercy on Myrrh-Bearing Women’s Day

The sisters of mercy will now be able to visit those in need and deliver humanitarian aid using their own vehicle.
On May 4, 2025, the Feast of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv presented the Martha and Mary Sisterhood of Mercy with a minibus to be used in their social and charitable work, reports the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
The hierarch blessed the vehicle at the Christ's Nativity Archdiocesan Metochion in Cherkasy.
"This acquisition opens up much broader opportunities for the Cherkasy Sisters of Mercy in social service than they had before. Visiting hospitals, orphanages, nursing homes, places where displaced persons live, and delivering humanitarian aid there will now be done by the the Martha and Mary sisters using their own transport," the message reads.
Metropolitan Theodosiy congratulated the sisters of mercy on the Feast of the Myrrh-Bearing Women, thanked them for their work, and urged church workers to pay special attention to preaching peace in society today.
"Your preaching should be a preaching of peace, and your service should be a service of peace," emphasized the Cherkasy hierarch.
