ROC сongratulates snipers on professional holiday, wishes "firmness of hand"
The Russian Church expressed the belief that "no one is better suited than a sniper to excel in inner prayer."
The Military Department of the Moscow Patriarchate congratulated snipers on their professional holiday – Sniper’s Day.
According to representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), the work of snipers in killing the enemy "embodies the words of Holy Scripture: 'Be strong and courageous'" (Joshua 1:6).
The Moscow Patriarchate emphasized that a sniper, spending hours alone tracking his target, "is uniquely positioned to succeed in inner prayer."
The ROC offered a "prayerful wish" to all snipers for "firmness of hand, God's help, and the protection of their Guardian Angel."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a military chaplain of the Sumy Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) had been killed on the front line.
