The relics of the Great Martyr will remain in Cherkasy for two weeks.

On April 26, 2025, a relic of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon was brought to the St. Andrew’s Archpastoral Compound in Cherkasy, according to the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy.

The sacred relic was personally brought to the city by Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, who then led the solemn reading of the Akathist to the Great Martyr, concelebrated by the city’s clergy.

According to Metropolitan Theodosiy, the reliquary will remain in Cherkasy for two weeks. A special schedule of services has been established for the faithful – molebens and Akathists will be celebrated daily at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM, allowing all who wish to venerate the relic.

In his archpastoral address, Metropolitan Theodosiy reminded the gathered faithful of the life of Saint Panteleimon – a physician who courageously confessed the Christian faith and was martyred by beheading. The Metropolitan especially emphasized the healing power of prayers to the saint, who, according to tradition, helps those who suffer to find both physical healing and spiritual consolation.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a slipper of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous from Corfu had also been brought to the Cherkasy Eparchy.
