OCU "hierarch" urges Ukrainians to “stop the drama at TRCs” and go to war
Kliment Kushch called those who speak of war fatigue “cowards” and urged the public to ignore them.
Kliment Kushch, a “hierarch” of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) and a citizen of the Russian Federation, harshly criticized Ukrainians who resist mobilization and refuse to go to the frontlines during an interview with the We Are Ukraine YouTube channel.
“Those who oppose mobilization, who are putting on a show at recruitment centers – look around: the war is coming. If you don’t want to defend, you’ll be destroyed,” Kushch stated.
He argued that those who don’t volunteer to fight will eventually be shot by the Russians anyway. He pointed out that soldiers are sitting in trenches for up to 60 months without rotation and need to be replaced.
Kushch promised that the newly mobilized would receive proper training at the front, adding that death can come even at home.
“Yes, they’ll learn. I understand it's scary, I understand death is near – but you're behind those who’ve already gone, it’s easier for you,” said the OCU “hierarch” with a Russian passport, adding that people could just as easily be killed by a missile strike in the rear.
“That’s why this war must not just end at the line of contact – we must win it,” he insisted.
He claimed that those speaking about being tired of the war are a minority – and a cowardly one.
“Don’t fall for the provocations of this cowardly minority. And frankly, don’t give them too much airtime in the information space,” Kushch advised.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Ukrainians are being pushed into some imaginary truce.
