The day before, the Primate of the UOC celebrated the statutory services of Holy Thursday and Matins with the reading of the 12 Passion Gospels.

On April 18, 2025, Great Friday, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine led the evening service with the procession of the Holy Shroud of our Lord Jesus Christ at the Agapit Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports the press service of the UOC.

The head of the Church was concelebrated by the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Bishop Lavr of Irpin, Bishop Mark of Borodianka, and the clergy of the monastery.

After the procession of the Shroud, His Beatitude addressed the flock with a sermon.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy read a special canon "On the Crucifixion of the Lord and the Lament of the Most Holy Theotokos" from the Small Compline of Great Friday.

After the absolution, the Primate of the Church, the clergy, and the faithful venerated the Shroud of our Lord Jesus Christ.

On the eve of Great Friday, April 17, Metropolitan Onuphry led Matins with the reading of the 12 Passion Gospels at the Church of St. Agapit of the Caves. On the morning of Great Thursday, he officiated Vespers with the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great.
