“I prayerfully wish all the wounded spiritual and physical healing; eternal memory to the departed,” said Metropolitan Onuphry of Kharkiv.

In recent days, the city of Kharkiv and surrounding areas in Kharkiv region have endured airstrikes by Russian forces. As a result of the shelling, kindergartens, medical facilities, and residential buildings have been destroyed. Civilians have been killed and injured. In response, on March 31, 2025, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv issued a message of condolence, according to the diocesan press service.

“I prayerfully wish all the wounded spiritual and physical healing; eternal memory to the departed. The clergy and faithful of the Kharkiv Eparchy are praying for peace in our country, for the Ukrainian army, and for all those defending our people’s right to live with dignity on their ancestral land,” said the Metropolitan.

As previously reported, the UOC’s Church of St. Panteleimon in Kharkiv was damaged in recent Russian shelling.
