In Kamyanske Eparchy of UOC, Met Volodymyr performs a monastic tonsure
A novice from the Protection Cathedral of the village of Tsarichanka has been tonsured into monasticism.
On Tuesday of the fourth week of Great Lent, March 25, 2025, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kamyanske and Tsarichanka performed a monastic tonsure in the church dedicated to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God at the St. Nicholas Cathedral complex of the UOC in Kamyanske, Dnipropetrovsk region, reports the diocesan press service.
The tonsure was given to a novice from the Protection Cathedral of the village of Tsarichanka. The newly tonsured nun received the name in honor of St. Benedict of Nursia.
After the tonsure, the hierarch gave spiritual guidance to Sister Benedict.
As reported by the UOJ, a monastic tonsure was performed in the women's Assumption Monastery in Transcarpathia.
