Police-aided OCU adherents seize UOC church in Komarivtsi

Raiders took over the church, taking advantage of the fact that the dean of the Storozhynets district is currently hospitalized.
On March 6, 2025, in the village of Komarivtsi, Chernivtsi region, representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), with the assistance of the police, seized the Holy Assumption Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), according to the Telegram channel "Orthobuk – Orthodox Community of the UOC."
"Today, on the day of the reading of the final part of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete, the Holy Assumption Church in the village of Komarivtsi, Bukovyna, was seized," the Telegram post stated.
The message further explained that "taking advantage of the fact that the dean of the Storozhynets district is currently hospitalized, the OCU clergy, together with representatives of the National Police, took control of the church."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a Romanian delegation visited the hospitalized UOC dean in Bukovyna.
