The community of the Great Martyr John of Suceava consists of 110 members.

Parishioners of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr John of Suceava in Spaska village, Storozhynets district, Chernivtsi region, have made an official statement expressing their intention to remain faithful to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the primacy of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

The video statement was published by the Orthobuk Telegram channel.

In the address, signed by the church’s rector, Priest Oleksandr, and parishioners, it is stated that certain individuals are attempting to raise the issue of changing the community’s church jurisdiction. In response, the Orthodox faithful of Spaska village have firmly declared their unwillingness to join the OCU or any other ecclesiastical structures.

The community, which has 110 registered members, emphasized its right to independently decide church matters and expressed its strong commitment to remaining within the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to the head of the Department of Culture of the Chernivtsi Regional Administration, her office does not handle the registration of decisions made by communities that confirm their loyalty to the UOC.
