Patriarch Bartholomew attends enthronement of RCC bishop in Istanbul
The head of Phanar wished success to the new bishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Turkey and spoke about his longtime acquaintance with him.
Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople attended the inauguration ceremony of the new bishop of the Roman Catholic Church, which took place on December 18, 2021 in the Sisli district of Istanbul (Turkey), according to the orthodoxtimes website.
The head of tPhanar arrived at the Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit accompanied by Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, as well as the head of the Private Patriarchal Office of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Grand Ecclesiarch Aetius.
Patriarch Bartholomew made a speech after the ceremony, in which he wished success to the new bishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Turkey. “The Ecumenical Patriarch wished a fruitful ministry to the new Bishop, whom he has known since the years of his ministry in the Catholic Communities in Smyrna and Trabzon,” the website reports.
As the UOJ reported, a delegation from the RCC arrived in Istanbul to participate in the Phanar festivities.
