The President stated that 100 years ago, "Right-Bank and Left-Bank Ukraine united into a single state."

On January 22, 2025, standing in the square in front of St. Sophia Cathedral, Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Ukrainians on Unity Day. He said that St. Sophia is a "place of strength and wisdom passed down to us through the events that took place here over a hundred years ago."

The President noted that historical events prove that "when we fight united, we certainly gain what is ours, but when we clash, we lose what is ours."

According to Zelensky, at this moment, "Ukrainians have all united from a call within."

"This word – 'together' – holds the hidden strength of Ukrainians. It's about us, about what we are capable of when we choose not our personal ambitions, but Ukraine. When we choose its interests. When we choose not a feud, but a sword," Zelensky emphasized.

He expressed confidence that St. Sophia Cathedral, which has stood for 1,000 years, "will stand for another thousand."

Zelensky promised to ensure that future generations would not feel ashamed, "so they know we did not repeat the mistakes of the past."

"And Ukraine exists. Ukraine is united, peaceful, and indivisible," the President assured.

To recall, Zelensky shared that after speaking with him, an immobilized soldier began to walk again.
