The Ambassador of Greece and Dumenko discussed the importance of dialogue with Ukrainian Orthodox Christians who have not joined the OCU.

On December 2, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Epifaniy Dumenko, held a meeting with the Greek Ambassador to Ukraine, Pantelis Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, as reported by the OCU press service.

During the meeting, Dumenko expressed his gratitude to the Greek people and government for their support amidst the Russian invasion.

The sides discussed Ukraine's European development vector, the ecclesiastical situation in the country, and the importance of dialogue with Orthodox Christians who "have not joined the Tomos of autocephaly yet". Special attention was given to the harmful ideology of the "Russian world", which, according to Epifaniy, has influenced the consciousness of Ukrainians for over 30 years.

Additionally, the topic of cultural and educational cooperation was addressed, particularly a programme for internship opportunities for students of OCU institutions at educational establishments in Greece.

During the meeting, the head of the OCU emphasized: "Our duty is to prevent the use of Church structures by the aggressor and to promote the unity of Orthodox Ukrainians and the strengthening of the autocephalous Church."

As reported by the UOJ, the head of the OCU accused Russia of fostering hatred among Ukrainians.
