A year ago, a UOC prayer house in this village was also destroyed.

As a result of shelling in the border village of Hremiach in the Chernihiv region, the UOC church dedicated to the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Novhorod-Siverskyi deanery has been destroyed. According to the press service of the Chernihiv Eparchy, fourteen explosions were recorded in the village on 18 November.

It is noted that the villagers had prayed in the newly built church for only ten years: it was consecrated in October 2014.

A year ago, in the spring of 2023, the church suffered its first damage – the blast wave blew out its door. On the same day, shelling destroyed the village’s prayer house, where services had been held since the postwar years.

The eparchial press service reports that from now on, divine services in Hremiach are no longer being held.

As the UOJ previously reported, a film screening was recently held in the cathedral seized from the UOC in Chernihiv.
