This plot of land is located in the central historical area of Kyiv, near landmarks such as St. Sophia Cathedral, Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, and within the protected zone of St. Andrew's Church.

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has criticized the Kyiv City State Administration’s plans to build an underground parking lot on Stary Kyiv Hill. According to the Ministry, this project, along with plans for a radiation shelter, poses a threat to significant archaeological and cultural sites.

The parking lot, designed to accommodate 320 vehicles, is planned at 13-21 Kyianivskyi Lane, an area home to several significant archaeological monuments: the "Cultural Layer of Yaroslav's City," "Kopyriv Konets," "Settlement and Burial Ground on Detynka Hill," and the "Historical Landscape of Kyiv Hills."

The Ministry explained that this land is situated in the central historical district of Kyiv, near UNESCO World Heritage Sites like St. Sophia Cathedral and Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, as well as within the protected zone of St. Andrew's Church. Furthermore, the site is part of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Ancient Kyiv" and contains nationally significant archaeological monuments, making the construction of a parking lot here unacceptable from the standpoint of cultural heritage preservation.

"The destruction of archaeological monuments for the construction of an underground parking lot on Stary Kyiv Hill is a threat to national security and cultural heritage," the Ministry of Culture emphasized.

As reported by the UOJ, a film screening was held in a church in Chernihiv that had been seized from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
