12 parishioners of the UOC are still in hospital with serious injuries.

Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv commented to KozakTv1 on the situation after the seizure of St. Michael's Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by OCU supporters. According to him, the physical condition of some UOC parishioners and clergy after the storming remains difficult, and some of them are still undergoing treatment.

“I feel more or less, but not all the injured have checked out of hospitals. Some are still undergoing surgeries on their legs and head. It will take several weeks or even a month to fully rehabilitate,” Met Theodosiy said.

He also thanked all those who raised money for the treatment of the injured during the storming of the cathedral.

Met Theodosiy noted that lawyers of the UOC are now finding out whether the Cherkasy hospital really refused to document the injuries of UOC parishioners: “I cannot yet confirm or deny this information, but it is known that some believers were refused hospitalisation and others underestimated the seriousness of their injuries.” If these facts are confirmed, the UOC intends to bring those responsible to justice.

In total, according to the metropolitan, more than 30 laymen and clerics were injured, but not all sought medical help. “The 12 most severe cases, including several priests, have been hospitalised and they are still undergoing surgery,” added Vladyka Theodosiy.

As reported by the UOJ, the Cherkasy Eparchy demanded to detain those responsible for the seizure of the cathedral.
