His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry said that people who raised their hand on the Divine Sanctuary committed a great sin.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, expressed words of support for the brethren of the Tithe Monastery, whose temple was demolished on the night of May 17, according to the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

The Primate of the UOC noted that he received the news of the temple's demolition with great sorrow and stated that those who raised their hand against the sanctuary committed a great sin.

"At this tragic time, I pray for those people: Lord, forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34). And I wish the brethren of the holy monastery that the Lord would grant them a new temple, larger and better than the one that wicked people demolished, so that they may continue their sincere prayers for our Ukrainian land and people and for the whole world in the temple of God's glory," said His Beatitude.

As reported by the UOJ, on May 17, clergy and laity from various dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held a prayer vigil at the ruins of the destroyed Tithe Monastery.
