Archpriest Alexander Klimenko wonders why Vladimir Zelensky continues the anti-church policy of Petro Poroshenko.

“Ukraine recently passed an electoral verdict to the President who interfered in the religious space,” said Archpriest Alexander Klimenko. “History never moves past persons who are fighting against the Church. It is strange that the incumbent president decided to take advantage of such an erroneous policy."

According to the priest, after the presidential elections in Ukraine there was hope for the abolition of the anti-church policy, but it did not come true.

“Things that are happening now are an echo of the past. We thought that discriminatory laws that hinder the activities of a religious community would be gone with the old President's office. But this did not happen," the priest said on the air of the Nash TV channel.

Father Alexander stated that over the past few months, Vladimir Zelensky "has moved away from the ‘hands-off policy’ which he declared and in which we believed."

Earlier, Archpriest Alexander said that the parishioners can see their Church is "like on a powder keg" and can be taken away at any moment.

The priest appealed to representatives of all confessions in Ukraine and stressed that discriminatory laws may sooner or later be directed against them.
