Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that the bill prohibiting the UOC should become a "serious safeguard against any influence from the aggressor state on faith and religion."

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk informed "Ukrinform" about the current stage of consideration of the bill No. 8371 prohibiting the UOC.

According to him, the head of the Rada committee on humanitarian policy, Mykyta Poturaev, "assured everyone that the committee members would not delay the consideration of the relevant draft."

At the same time, Stefanchuk believes that "it is very important for the mechanism of the bill to become a very serious safeguard against any influence from the aggressor state on faith and religion."

The head of the parliament also expressed hope that the committee "will prepare a quality edition that MPs will support during the voting in the second reading."

As reported by the UOJ, Stefanchuk refused to transfer the law on the UOC to the "Venice Commission".
