Hungary and Vatican agree to work for peace in Ukraine
Hungary and the Vatican have agreed on their goal on Ukraine, Hungarian President Katalin Novák said after a meeting with Pope Francis.
Hungarian President Katalin Novák agreed on a "sustainable peace in the shortest possible time" during a meeting with Pope Francis, reports "Strana".
"Our main topic was the war. We agreed to work together to achieve sustainable peace as soon as possible. We also discussed what we can do together to ensure that children who were taken away from Ukraine return home," Novák said.
The day before, the Hungarian President visited Kyiv to participate in the Crimean Platform forum and met with Zelensky, supporting his formula.
At the same time, reports "Strana", the country's Prime Minister Viktor Orban did not express support for this formula (it implies the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine before the start of negotiations).
As reported, Pope Francis is attempting to arrange a meeting between Putin and Zelensky.
