Showman urges atheists to support the Tomos

Ukrainian stand-up comedian Serhii Prytula called not only on members of his “native” Kyiv Patriarchate, but even on atheists, to support the Tomos.
The television host believes the Church should be viewed as an “enterprise,” and that Ukrainians – including atheists – should make a “super internal investment” in the Tomos. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“I appeal to the young people of this country! … Our Church has always existed! And I’m not just talking about my native Kyiv Patriarchate. Have you heard of the UAOC? No? Then Google it! And support the Tomos!
I call on all atheists to support the Local Church! You don’t care – you don’t believe in our Lord! But… consider the Church as an enterprise! In short, our task is to concentrate as many of the Church’s resources within the country as possible! … This is a super internal investment! Atheists – support the Tomos!” the comedian wrote.
“I address all those whose heads are filled with talk about ‘protecting Orthodox shrines’! My dear Orthodox militants! We have dozens of shrines that by law belong to the state… And when the state asks clergy to vacate buildings of architectural and historical significance that are state property – not Church property – then kindly comply with the law.
If you do not obey the law, you will be removed from our shrines – no matter who you are, where you are, or who stands behind you! And pray that it’s law enforcement who removes you – and not those for whom you so reluctantly prayed during the height of the ATO!” the actor declared.
“Our ‘death to enemies’ is dearer to me than your unwillingness to pray for our army,” he added in a comment to his post.
As the UOJ previously reported, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC, said provocations were being prepared against the Kyiv-Pechersk and Pochaiv Lavras, and that UOC believers would defend their churches.
