Book "Gogol and Orthodoxy" presented in Moscow
The press conference held in Moscow was attended by Chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, president of the Unity of Orthodox Peoples Foundation V. Alekseev and literary critic V. Voropayev.
"One of the most prominent writers of the XIX century, manifesting in his works a glow of sanctity of the Orthodox faith, is definitely Nikolai Gogol," said Bishop Kliment.
According to the President of the Foundation, Valery Alekseev, "the author of "Dead Souls" belongs to Russia and Ukraine and with his fate and work reminds us of the unity and brotherhood of our peoples."
